West Coast Nats was in town, and that meant good times, plenty of hydration, and of course, river fun that brought back the feel of a classic river run. After a short, four-hour drive, we arrived Friday afternoon to a park full of minis, fullsize, and custom classic trucks of all makes and models. Hosted by Sunset car club, security kept everyone in check, and if a hotel room wasn't your cup of tea, a tent was all you needed to camp out next to your truck. As a bonus, Saturday saw the Sunset team open up the grass infield for the show trucks, and you could peruse the aisles all day with every custom color under the Arizona sun on display. For more information about next year's show, which will be even better with the help of a new bar/restaurant set to open up called The Pirate's Den, go to www.wcnevents.com.inline_mediumwraptextright0036004201/events/1203tr_2011_west_coast_nationals_custom_truck_show1203tr-17+2011-west-coast-nationals-custom-truck-show+poster.jpgtrue Photo Gallery: 2011 West Cost Nationals - Custom Truck Show - Parker AZ - Truckin' Magazine

Built out of loveChris Sheldon of Henderson, Nevada, fell in love with the '55-'57 Chevrolet pickups when he was 11 years old. After several years of saving his money and finally buying one, life caught up with him and he and his wife wanted to buy a house and start a family. Making the tough decision to sell the truck he loved, in the back of his mind, Chris knew he would eventually build another one. This time around, Chris picked up a 1955 Chevy Cameo and spared nothing in building it exactly how he wanted it.inline_mediumwraptextright0034948364/features/1203tr_1955_chevy_cameo_orange_crush1203tr-01+1955-chevy-cameo+front-three-quarter.jpgtrue Photo Gallery: 1955 Chevy Cameo - Orange Crush - Classic Chevy Trucks - Truckin' Magazine

Chevy Silverado, 2006 Ford F-150, 2003 Chevy Avalanche, and a 2005 Dodge Ram!To get your truck featured in Readers' Rides, email a high-resolution photo of your truck to Maxwell.Matthewson@sorc.com. Send in a front 3â4 or profile shot of your truck, and make sure it's big enough. For a digital file, try to make it at least 1MB. Don't use your cell phone! We print at a much higher resolution than a website, which means that sending links to photos posted online won't work. Also, please make sure that the whole truck is in the frame, don't cutoff the front or back of the truck. Remember, this is your pride and joy. Do your best to make your truck look it's best. Also, make sure to include plenty of information about you and your truck. The more information, the better the article. If you want to get your ride noticed by posting it on our website, go to rides.truckinweb.com. Upload up to 20 photos of your vehicle, along with detailed descriptions. Project New Guy: Part 1 - 2000 Chevy Silverado

New attitude and altitude for the front suspension of a 2000 ChevyI was hired to work as the Associate Editor of Truckinâ in early September of 2010. For the first three months of working at the mag, I was truck-less. That was until I picked up the perfect project truck, a 2000 Chevy Silverado that had been used as a work vehicle, and for $3,000, I couldnât beat it. It was in sad shape, which made the need to fix it up taste that much sweeter. After talking with Editor Dan Ward, I decided that I wanted to build a daily driveable âbagged show vehicle.inline_mediumwraptextright0036034123/tech/1203tr_project_new_guy_part_1_2000_chevy_silverado1203tr-01+2000-chevy-silverado+keg-media-render.jpgtrue Photo Gallery: Project New Guy - 2000 Chevy Silverado - Front Suspension - Truckin' Magazine

During every photo shoot, I get asked the same batch of questions, with one of the first being "How did you get into doing this?" That's a great question, and a story I always enjoy sharing.During every photo shoot, I get asked the same batch of questions, with one of the first being "How did you get into doing this?" That's a great question, and a story I always enjoy sharing. Growing up in a small town outside of Savannah, Georgia, (hello to all my people in Pooler) I always loved cars and trucks. My dad and I would work on the truck he passed down to me, and I'd blow my paycheck from the parts' store on things "I just had to have." In college, I started taking English seriously, began working at the university paper, and enrolled in photography classes. When you work at a student-ran newspaper, you quickly realize the importance of meeting deadlines, snapping interesting pics, and that not everyone in the student body enjoys truck show bikini photos on the front page. After working at several local newspapers in multiple capacities, I applied to Truckin' and to Sport Compact Car.inline_mediumwraptextright0036003883/editorial/1203tr_blessing_beatings_getting_into_it1203tr-01+blessing-and-beatings-getting-into-it+2007-chevy-silverado-1500.jpgtrue
