1956 Dodge Power Wagon
- 1956 Dodge Power Wagon
Backward GlancesEveryone knows the story of how Willys-Overland successfully capitalized on a World War II military design in the post-war civilian world. Fewer know that Dodge did the same thing. In 1939, Dodge developed a military ½-ton 4x4 that evolved into the legendary model WC ¾-ton design that continued in production thru the war, to the tune of more than 250,000 units. The Dodge WCs, along with the jeep and Jimmy deuce-and-a-half, were the vehicular heroes of WWII and are fondly remembered by those who served.inline_mediumwraptextright00Power Wagon had a big year in 1956. The 230ci flathead-six got a nice power boost and the electrical system was upgraded to 12-volts. Power steering became available as an option and partway into the model year the transmission was upgraded to the new synchronized NP420 with the option of an 11-inch clutch. Bizzellâs truck has the optional 9,500-pound GVW and was factory equipped with a Braden MU2-2 7,500-pound PTO winch. Deceased Dodge With a Sinister AttitudeWe asked Jarod Andrews, the owner of this deadly Dodge, why he built it. He simply told us, âIt was something to do for the shop.â That shop, Pensacola Autoworks in, wait for it, Pensacola, Florida, helped Jarod do something many custom Ram owners donât doâlay the frame on the ground over 26-inch wheels. Something sinister this way comes.inline_mediumwraptextright0034947860/features/1203tr_2002_dodge_ram_afterlife1203tr-01+2002-dodge-ram+front-three-quarter.jpgtrue Photo Gallery: 2002 Dodge Ram - Airbagged Fullsize - The Afterlife - Truckin' Magazine

A Man, a Plan, a Dodge Grand Caravan
- A Man, a Plan, a Dodge Grand Caravan
Actually, four men and not much of a plan.In the Automobile Magazine letters mailbox, there is a certain genre of complaint that I'd characterize as, "Why don't you guys get real?" The theme is that we're a bunch of out-of-touch hedonists who spend our days driving Pagani Huayras up the side of the Matterhorn with Scarlett Johansson riding shotgun. And while that's a great idea, now that I mention it, it does behoove us every now and then to dip a toe into the cold bath of reality. Well, how about driving a Dodge minivan to Atlantic City? And after that, how about off-roading in rural Pennsylvania? Is that real enough for you? It's as real as the 1000 percent of the recommended daily allowance of sodium in a bag of truck-stop beef jerky, my friend. Photo Gallery: A Man, a Plan, a Dodge Grand Caravan - Automobile Magazine

Dodge's darling of the Detroit show will come to market with a Mopar customization catalogue of at least 150 parts, some of which are previewed in this concept. Mopar claims that no other compact offers such a broad array of customization parts.inline_mediumwraptextright0035384336/auto_shows/chicago/2012/1202_2012_chicago_2013_dodge_dart_gts_210_tribute_concept2013-Dodge-Dart-Mopar-GTS-210-Tribute-front-three-quarters-view.jpgtrue Photo Gallery: 2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute Concept - 2012 Chicago Auto Show - Motor Trend

- 9th Annual Scrapin' The Coast 2011 - Custom Truck Show
Biloxi Comes AliveThis yearâs Scrapinâ the Coast is now in the books, but we canât stop thinking back on the great weekend we had at the show. Held annually at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center, the show drew crowds from all around as well as show trucks from as far as Miami, Florida, and beyond. This year the show fell on the weekend of June 24, 25, and 26 and was met with great weather and good times. Scrapinâ is known for their surfboard awards, and this year was no different, except for the Best of Show Car and Best of Show Truck. These were all metal, 3½-foot-tall tikis made by Robbie Azevedo at Pacific Coast Customs. The rest of the Best Of trophies were custom-painted skim boards and the First, Second, and Third Place club trophies were full-fledged custom-painted surfboards.inline_mediumwraptextright0035866693/events/1202tr_9th_annual_scrapin_the_coast_2011_custom_truck_show1202tr-02+9th-annual-scrapin-the-coast-custom-truck-show+banner.jpgtrue Photo Gallery: 9th Annual Scrapin' The Coast 2011 - Custom Truck Show - Truckin' Magazine
